During a stag weekend, while taking part in activities the father of the bride suddenly collapsed from a heart attack and the team at Harvey Hadden Sports Village was alerted and sprang into action.

The team, led by Supervisor Josh Reid, quickly arrived at the scene and assessed the man before their NPLQ training kicked in and they began performing CPR. The team also used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) where two shocks were delivered. Thanks to the swift actions and coordination of Josh and the team, the patient left the site conscious and talking, and was able to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding.

Even more impressive, Josh started as a lifeguard and was only three months into his role as Supervisor when his lifesaving skills were called upon and made all the difference. The bride to be sent her thanks to the team for their prompt actions and response on the day of the incident.

The team consisted of: Josh Reid (supervisor), Sam Wheat (lifeguard), Brad Nolan (lifeguard), Jake Jeffery (lifeguard), Jack Edis (lifeguard) and Libby Adams (lifeguard) – a very big well done to you all and your efforts to help save a life!
