The programme aims to raise awareness and understanding of EDI subjects and promote a more inclusive, welcoming environment for Everyone involved in the organisation. The course is not mandatory, but all members and associates are encouraged to complete it. The subjects covered are: What is inclusion, belonging and diversity. The key principles of the Equality Act 2010 including the protected characteristics and how this affects you as volunteers. Unacceptable behaviour including examples of what this may look like. How to challenge unacceptable behaviour and report it. What is an Active Bystander and how to do it safely. We will identify some charities and support agencies who can help to support you.
