In 2025, incredible community support helped amplify this life-saving message, with partners and individuals sharing our content widely and getting actively involved to spread awareness. September Success September was the most successful month of the campaign, helping raise awareness about the dangers of mixing alcohol and open water during the busy Freshers period. Our campaign’s social media reach increased by 12.5% year-on-year, engaging an audience of 66,000 people, resulting in more people than ever seeing our water safety messaging. Our Don’t Drink and Drown video played a key role, achieving over 40,000 views in just one week. December Highlights The December campaign, focused on encouraging people to look out for friends after festive nights out, received strong online support. Our messages resonated during the holiday season, a time when alcohol consumption typically rises, and engagement remained high across platforms. An amazing 39 organisations joined the conversation by sharing our content on their social media channels, giving our message an extra boost. Community and Partnerships Collaboration was at the heart of this success. Over 50 organisations and individuals shared our graphics, messaging, and hashtags online throughout September and December, most notably Fire and Rescue Services across the UK, who remain vital partners in spreading life-saving advice. The campaign also featured in nine media articles, in outlets ranging from Newcastle’s Chronicle Live to the Monmouthshire Beacon and has supported practical initiatives such as Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service’s Waterside Responder Training, where our resources supported their real-life throw line demonstrations. A Shared Achievement A heartfelt thank you to everyone who got involved in 2025. Together, we’ve taken the Don’t Drink and Drown message further than ever before, helping more people understand how to stay safe near water after drinking alcohol.
